Performance of Hollow Concrete Filled Circular Steel Tube Column Subjected Axial Loading

Abstract To improve the behavior of hollow concrete filled steel tube, a novel type reinforced circular tubular member (RHCFST) was put forward and its axial studied. The finite element analysis model 12 RHCFST short columns under compression established by using ABAQUS. influence tube’s strength wall thickness, diameter bar with normal strength, sandwich concrete’s thickness on mechanical properties members were investigated. results showed that loading process can be defined as five stages: elastic, elastoplastic, descending, strengthen gentle stage. new composite structure has good cooperative performance. ultimate bearing capacity increaseswith increase yield strength.
